About

Wendy is the Director and Owner of Deaf Resources Center. 

 

As a Hard of Hearing member of the Deaf Community, she has served as past Treasurer and President of the Louisiana Association of the Deaf and other boards and committees addressing the rights and needs of the Deaf community. 

 

Wendy holds a BA from Southeastern Louisiana University and attended graduate school at the University of Tennessee and Louisiana State University.

 

In addition to being an American Sign Language Interpreting Agency, DRC also supports our community in the fight against hunger by having a  Food Pantry at the home office.

Thursday: 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

DRC Food Pantry is partnered with the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and is open to anyone who qualifies and resides in East Baton Rouge Parish. 

 

For People who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing or Deaf-Blind and qualify for food  the requirement to reside in East Baton Rouge Parish is waived. As long as you live in Louisiana and qualify you can come to our pantry for food. Our staff can assist you with the application process in ASL. With no language barriers, our Food Pantry makes it easy for ASL users to apply for food, get approved and pick up food monthly.
